  • Vivo has announced the launch of the X50 and X50 Pro in global markets.
  • The phones will be coming to EMEA and APAC markets over the next three months.
  • The X50 Pro features a 48MP main camera with a gimbal-like stabilization system.

Vivo launched the X50 series in China last month, and followed up with an Indian launch earlier today. Now, the company has announced global availability of the series.

Much like India, global users won’t be getting the Vivo X50 Pro Plus. It’s a shame as the Plus model packs the cutting-edge Samsung GN1 50MP main camera, a 120Hz refresh rate, and the Snapdragon 865 flagship chipset.

Instead, global users will be getting the standard Vivo X50 and the X50 Pro. Both devices pack a 6.56-inch FHD+ OLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate, 2x optical zoom camera, a 32MP selfie camera, 8GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, and 33W charging.

But the X50 Pro is the more feature-packed device otherwise, featuring a 48MP main camera with gimbal-style stabilization, as well as a 5x periscope camera in addition to the 2x shooter. You’re also getting a 4,315mAh battery here compared to the X50’s 4,200mAh pack.

The Vivo X50 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 765G processor, but it’s unclear what chipset we’ll find on the X50. The phone launched in China with the Snapdragon 765G SoC, but arrived in India today with the 4G-only Snapdragon 730 processor. We’ve asked Vivo to clarify the X50’s chipset and will update the article accordingly.

Vivo says the two phones will go on sale in EMEA and APAC regions “over the coming three months, specifically noting India and Indonesia. We’ve asked the company for pricing details and will add this information if/when they get back to us.
