OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z could deliver Warp Charge tech

Update, April  6 2020 (6:15AM ET): We first got word of the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z earbuds last week, when leaker Ishan Agarwal and 91mobiles reported that the new accessory was coming “very soon.”

Now, Agarwal and Pricebaba have received a few more apparent details, claiming that the device will have an IP55 water- and dust-resistant design. This doesn’t mean you can swim with them, but it should survive a splash of water.

The leaker also reports that the new OnePlus earbuds will have up to 20 hours of battery life. And when your battery inevitably runs dry, the earbuds will apparently make use of Warp Charge fast charging to deliver 10 hours of playback after 10 minutes of charging.

Furthermore, it’s also believed that the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z will offer reduced Bluetooth latency (110ms), which should help for games and video content.

News of the apparent Bullets Wireless Z specs also comes after veteran leaker Evan Blass posted four color options on his Patreon page. The four colors, seen above, suggest that the company will have a color option for everyone at launch.

What else would you like to see from the new OnePlus wireless earphones?

Original article, April 1 2020 (4:15AM ET): OnePlus launched its Bullets Wireless earphones alongside the OnePlus 6 in 2018, offering a neckband design and quick charging technology. The firm followed up with the Bullets Wireless 2 last year, featuring a very similar design.

Now, noted leaker Ishan Agarwal and 91mobiles report that OnePlus is launching OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z earbuds. It was initially reported by the duo that the new product will be a true wireless design, ditching the cable and neckband between the two earphones. But Agarwal later clarified that these would still retain the cable between the two buds like the previous earphones.

The leaker adds that the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z is coming “very soon,” although there’s no word on an exact date. So we’d expect it to show up on or before the OnePlus 8 series launch on April 14.

There’s no word on design and features, but hopefully the new earbuds offer fast charging like the old Bullets Wireless earphones. The Bullets Wireless 2 also offered Bluetooth 5 connectivity, aptX support, and Quick Pair tech, so fingers crossed that these features land on the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z too.

This wasn’t the only nugget of OnePlus information to be had from Agarwal, as he confirmed that a Warp Charge 30 wireless charger will launch with the OnePlus 8 series. This is to be expected, as previous leaks point to the OnePlus 8 Pro having 30W wireless charging capabilities. So it only makes sense for OnePlus to release an accessory that makes the most of the charging speed.
