Moto G9 Plus, E7 Plus renders leak: What to know about Moto’s new budget phones?

  • Leaked renders have given us a look at the Moto E7 Plus and Moto G9 Plus.
  • The E7 Plus purportedly packs dual rear cameras, a Snapdragon 460 chipset, and a 5,000mAh battery.
  • Meanwhile, the Moto G9 Plus is set to offer a 64MP quad rear camera setup and punch-hole cutout.

The Moto series has become one of the go-to budget options in the US, offering sensible specs and features at a sensible price. Now, it looks like we’ve got our first proper look at two upcoming Moto devices in the Moto G9 Plus and E7 Plus.

Leaked renders of the two devices have landed online via veteran tipster Evan Blass’s Patreon account. Starting with the Moto G9 Plus, the renders show a phone in blue and rose gold color options.

Other notable design decisions here include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a hardware key on the left-hand side (presumably the power button if it isn’t embedded in the fingerprint scanner), and a punch-hole cutout.

The new phone also sports a quad rear camera setup in these renders, featuring a 64MP main camera (we can infer from the branding that it has 0.8 micron pixels). Recent Moto G series devices have all lacked telephoto cameras, so we’re guessing the other three shooters here are ultra-wide, depth, and macro lenses.

Meanwhile, the Moto E7 Plus looks like your average entry-level phone in 2020, featuring a waterdrop notch and a rear fingerprint scanner embedded in the Moto logo. The phone will be available in orange-brown gradient and blue colorways at the very least, according to these images. Check out the renders below.

The Moto E7 Plus renders also show a dual rear camera setup on the back. Here’s hoping the secondary rear camera is an ultra-wide shooter instead of a gimmicky macro or depth lens.

This device could be a pretty capable phone though, as Blass previously reported that it’s equipped with a Snapdragon 460 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a 48MP main camera, and a 5,000mAh battery. The Snapdragon 460 in particular brings powerful CPU cores to the 400 series for the first time, with Qualcomm claiming a 70% performance boost over prior Snapdragon 400-series silicon.

Blass hasn’t disclosed any more Moto G9 Plus details yet, but a phone said to be the G9 Plus passed through certification websites last month. The device reportedly packs a 4,700mAh battery and 30W charging.
