  • A new Poco phone has appeared on FCC’s website with a brand new back panel design.
  • The FCC listing also confirms a few specs of the phone.

A new FCC listing has taken the covers off of a mysterious Poco phone. The unnamed device comes bearing model number M2007J20CG and is rumored to be called the Poco X3. The good news is that it doesn’t look like any Xiaomi phone we’ve seen till now. However, we can’t be certain if Xiaomi won’t launch a similar phone before or after this Poco device comes to market.

Nevertheless, the image of the phone’s back panel shows a rectangular camera module within a circular housing. Prominent Poco branding adorns the lower half of the back panel and there’s a thick stripe running through the center with what looks like a textured finish. Overall, it’s not a very out-of-the-box design, but also not something we’ve previously seen on a Xiaomi phone. Check out the image from the FCC listing below.

We also know some specs of the so-called Poco X3 thanks to the FCC listing. To start with, the image clearly shows that the phone has a 64MP main camera. You can read the text “64MP AI Super Camera around the circular camera housing.

Elsewhere, the RF test report of this new Poco phone confirms that the device will run MIUI 12 out of the box. It also shows the battery model number as BN57. TUV Rheinland has reportedly certified the same battery with a rated capacity of 5,060mAh and a typical capacity of 5,160mAh.

A SAR test report spotted by the_tech_guy on Twitter further confirms 33W fast charging on the phone. This report mentions two model numbers, including the one listed on FCC ending with a “G. It’s believed that this model is the global variant of the said Poco phone, while the other model number — M2007J20CT — belongs to the same phone, albeit for a different market.

We don’t have any other specs about the phone, or details of when it’ll launch. However, we do know that Poco might be prepping a budget phone called the Poco C3 and another one that’s a possible rival to the OnePlus Nord. Guess we’ll have to wait and see what the smartphone maker has in store.
