- The Android TV dongle is listed on the Portugese Mi Store at €40, much like a Chromecast.
- It still hasn’t officially launched, but the specs are on full display.
Xiaomi’s Mi TV Stick has been a poorly kept secret, and that now includes the official pricing. The company’s official Portuguese store has started listing (via 4gnews, @Android TV Guide, and 9to5Google) the 1080p version of the Android TV dongle for €40, or just slightly more than the €39 you’d pay in the country for Google’s Chromecast.
The listing also confirms specs for this base version of the Mi TV Stick, which includes 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and a quad-core Cortex-A53 processor. Earlier clues have also mentioned a 4K version with more powerful internals and a likely higher price.
The store doesn’t directly offer a release date. You can sign up to learn when the device will arrive, though, and 4gnews claims the Mi TV Stick could be made available as soon as July 15. It’s too soon to know if Xiaomi’s hardware will compete well with rival streaming devices like the Chromecast or Amazon’s Fire TV Stick, but the cost might not be an issue.
