Original article, February 13 2020 (1:46AM ET): Xiaomi has officially taken the covers off the Mi 10 series, unveiling the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. From a Snapdragon 865 processor and quad rear camera setup to 8K recording, big batteries and a 90Hz screen, there’s plenty to like about these phones.

When it comes to Xiaomi, however, pricing is one of the most important factors. So join us as we look at the Mi 10 series’ pricing and availability.

Mi 10 China details

The Xiaomi Mi 10 series first launched in China on February 13, and they’re already available to pre-order. The Mi 10 goes on sale from February 14, while the Mi 10 Pro hits shelves on February 18. You can check out Chinese pricing below.

  • Xiaomi Mi 10 8GB/128GB – 3,999 Chinese yuan (~$573)
  • Xiaomi Mi 10 8GB/256GB – 4,299 Chinese yuan (~$616)
  • Xiaomi Mi 10 12GB/256GB – 4,699 Chinese yuan (~$673)
  • Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 8GB/256GB – 4,999 Chinese yuan (~$716)
  • Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 12GB/256GB – 5,499 Chinese yuan (~$787)
  • Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 12GB/512GB – 5,999 Chinese yuan (~$859)

The base Mi 10 price is actually ~$120 to $140 more than the Xiaomi Mi 9’s launch price, and the company has outlined several reasons for this increase. Essentially, it comes down to the Snapdragon 865 chipset, screen technology, RAM, and other factors.

Mi 10 global availability details

Xiaomi announced the Mi 10 series globally on March 27. However, it didn’t launch both the Mi 10 and the Mi 10 Pro in all markets.

In the UK, Xiaomi has only launched the standard Mi 10 and skipped out on the Mi 10 Pro. The vanilla Mi 10 will be available in the country from Mi.com. It’s priced at £699 (~$858) for the 8GB RAM/128GB storage version. The 256GB storage variant will be available for £799 (~$980).

In Italy, the Mi 10 series will start selling on April 7, while preorders will start on March 28. Those who preorder the phones can also benefit from the same €100 gift box deal. The Mi 10 can be purchased in Italy from Mi.com, authorized Mi Stores, Amazon, Vodafone and more. The Mi 10 Pro will only be available through Mi.com and Amazon.

The Mi 10 Pro will be available in Alpine White and Solstice Gray colorways. The regular Mi 10 will sell in Coral Green and Twilight Gray colors.

Mi 10 India pricing and availability

Xiaomi’s Mi series flagships haven’t traditionally been available in India for the most part, but the company is bringing them to the country this year.

The Mi 10 line was supposed to launch in India on March 31 and its pre-bookings were to start on the same day. However, due to the coronavirus lockdown in India, the company decided to postpone the launch.

“After careful deliberation, we have taken the decision to postpone the launch of Xiaomi’s flagship Mi 10 in India, which was scheduled on March 31, 2020. We are evaluating the situation and will release a revised launch date soon, the company told Android Authority in an emailed statement.

Following the release of new lockdown guidelines, Xiaomi has now set a new launch date for the Mi 10 series in India. The phones, at least the Mi 10, will launch in the country on May 8. The company revealed the revised launch date for the flagship lineup through an official tweet.

In a previous tweet discussing the Mi 10’s India launch, global vice-president Manu Jain noted that all units would have to be imported due to the lack of suitable manufacturing facilities in the country, saying it would therefore see a “different [more expensive probably – ed] price model.

There’s no word on pricing then, but Jain’s statement about a different pricing model suggests a phone more in line with the OnePlus series price than the Redmi K20 Pro.
