While the Poco F1 smartphone was one of the standout devices of 2018, we didn’t see any follow-up in 2019. We finally got a true sequel recently, though, with the Poco F2 Pro, which packs a mighty punch in the specs department, just like its predecessor.
However, while it holds true to the Poco name with its specs sheet, the Poco F2 Pro costs considerably more than the Poco F1. With its low entry price being one of the biggest aspects of the F1’s success, this disparity was a bit controversial.

We wanted to know what Android Authority readers think about the Poco F2 Pro in general as well as how the price sits with them. In order to find out, we did what we usually do: open up the polls and let you cast your votes!

Poco F2 Pro: How do you really feel about it?
We conducted two separate polls related to the Poco F2 Pro. The first was incredibly simple: is it hot or is it not? Readers had just those two choices to select and here’s how it turned out:
While this poll doesn’t have many nuances, it makes it pretty clear that the majority of our readers think the Poco F2 Pro is a good phone overall.
With the basics established, we delved a bit deeper with a second poll. This one asked, “Do you think the Poco F2 Pro’s price is competitive in 2020?� There were three possible answers:
- It’s cheap.
- It’s too expensive.
- The price is just right.
We saw over 2,000 responses to this poll. Check out the results below:
While this isn’t as cut-and-dry as the first poll, a slim majority of responders say that the Poco F2 Pro is too expensive. A nearly equal number of folks think that the price is just right, though, while only 15% of you think the phone is actually cheap for its class.

The formula should be the same as the F1: good processor, plastic materials, average camera, and an LCD panel to lower the price. If I want a Redmi K30 Pro, I’ll buy it, or even get the Poco Launcher.

There is so much in [the Poco F2 Pro] that I don’t need. What things would I ditch? Ditch the glass back. NFC is no use to me. Quad camera? Only need two: one main camera and one ultra-wide camera plus maybe a depth sensor. And 5G? Who uses 5G? You don’t buy a Poco if you can afford 5G. I love the sleeker look of the Poco F1. It’s not an iPhone that I flaunt. And they should have included at least 90Hz screen. Really disappointed. I’ve been holding on to my Poco F1 hoping for the F2. And the price? I would go Nubia Red Magic 5G for a couple more dollars.

I don’t get why people are bashing it. It obviously isn’t the F1, but what it brings to the table at that price is pretty sweet. Aside from the 60Hz display, I can’t think of any other drawbacks, especially at this price.

I really don’t see the issue. The F1 was a drag on so many levels, from LTE band support to disappointing build quality to middling display to no NFC to camera performance which barely outshone the OG Pixel. Xiaomi has gone with its strengths here and I’m glad that it has.
