The mobile-only game — dubbed Crackables 2.0 — officially starts today. Read on for more details, and then head to crackables.oneplus.com on your mobile device to get started.

Original: April 7, 2020 (9:12 AM ET): Remember Crackables? OnePlus’ “crypto-puzzle” game that went viral at the time of the OnePlus 6T launch in 2018? The riddle game is back for a second round and this time, the prize bounty is set at $20,000.

Crackables 2.0 will be available for free starting April 14, coinciding with the launch of the OnePlus 8 series. Registrations for the game will begin on April 7 through its official website.

Crackables 2.0: Rules of the game

Just like its previous version, Crackables 2.0 will throw a series of digital, story-driven puzzles at participants. The puzzles will start with a low difficulty level but will keep getting more complicated as players advance in the game.

Participants will travel through “gates” to reach the next level and some puzzles will also need players to work together.

The first ten players to find a solution to the last puzzle will then move on to compete for an opportunity to win $10,000. Players can also win an additional $10,000 to donate to a charity supporting those affected by COVID-19.

The gameplay will conclude on April 30 and the final tournament will be livestreamed worldwide on May 7.

OnePlus has once again partnered with Google and Sleep Deprivation Labs to create the second instalment of Crackables. The development of the game is led by UNIT9’s game director Jakub Jakubowski who also created the original game.

So are you ready to play Crackables 2.0? We know we’ll be trying to solve some of the puzzles too!
