V-Moda took the first day of CES 2021 to announce its first pair of noise-cancelling headphones. The V-Moda M series headphones have been a go-to for many audiophiles over the last few years, and the addition of noise-cancelling is sure to make these more appealing for everyday use.
The new V-Moda M-200 ANC headphones don’t look very different from the originals. They have the same rugged build, identical folding headband, and customizable metal ear cup plates. Although V-Moda didn’t reinvent its design, the V-Moda M-200 ANC have been updated where it counts. These have Bluetooth 5.0 built-in with plenty of great Bluetooth codec support. Along with the standard SBC codec that all audio devices use, these have aptX HD for high quality streaming and AAC for iOS devices.
These also have Bluetooth multipoint so you can switch between devices seamlessly just like the Sony WH-1000XM4 or Microsoft Surface Headphones 2. As far as battery life is concerned V-Moda claims that these will last you about 20 hours of constant playback with active noise-cancelling turned on. Just like the other top contenders in the over-ear Bluetooth market, the V-Moda M-200 ANC also features a passthrough so you can hear what’s going on around you.
They also come with a 3.5mm cable and a USB-C-to-USB-C cable for charging as well — two things that the AirPods Max don’t have in the box.
These are not cheap. If you want to add a pair of these to your collection then be prepared to spend some serious cash as the V-Moda M-200 ANC will run you about $499. You can expect to get them around early March 2021.
