Xiaomi
- The first official image of the Mi Band 5 has been posted online.
- It shows a wearable with a similar design to the Mi Band 4.
- The image also confirms a larger screen area and a few features.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 is all set to launch on June 11 and we now have our first official look at the fitness tracker. Xiaomi has revealed a poster of the Mi Band 5 on its Weibo page, showing the wearable in four colorways: yellow, red, green, and black. In contrast, the Mi Band 4 was made available in black, blue, maroon, and orange colorways.
The official Mi Band 5 image below shows that its design hasn’t changed much compared to the Mi Band 4. It’s got the same pill-shaped display, albeit with a larger screen area and possibly reduced bezels. If you look closely, the Mi Band 5 seems to have that familiar capacitive button underneath its rumored 1.2-inch display. The silicone strap also apes that of the previous model.
Xiaomi also mentions NFC support in its Weibo teaser and it’s rumored that even the global version of the band will get the feature this time.
Further, the Mi Band 5 image confirms it’ll get tracking for activities like yoga, rowing machines, and skipping. It also shows tracking for women’s health, which is also something we’ve heard about before.
For now, that’s all we can gather from this first official photo of the Mi Band 5. Sadly, it doesn’t confirm one of its most anticipated features, support for Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant. But we hope to know more about the fitness tracker in the coming days.
