- An alleged real-world shot of the Galaxy Fold 2 has broken cover.
- The image suggests a punch-hole selfie camera could feature on the foldable display.
At this rate, it’s likely nothing will be a secret at Samsung’s Unpacked event. After pricing for the Galaxy Note 20 and a full hands-on video of the Galaxy Watch 3 leaked yesterday, a purported shot of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 has broken cover.
The shot, which found its way onto XDA writer Max Weinbach’s Twitter timeline (h/t: 9to5Google), purportedly details Samsung’s next foldable phone during its boot sequence.

If the snap is real, it confirms Samsung’s name adjustment for the Galaxy Fold line. The unsightly notch from the first Fold is also absent, making way for a punch-hole camera on the right-hand side of the folded display. It’s only noticeable if you crank up the brightness and contrast, though.
Beyond this, it seems the Galaxy Z Fold 2 could feature thinner edges which will go a long way to making the phone more pocketable. Those hoping for unnoticeable bezels will be disappointed, though. A crease along the device’s fold remains visible too.
This is our first seemingly real look at the Galaxy Z Fold 2 since tiny renders were leaked earlier this month. Those suggested the phone will also be offered in a Mystic Bronze colorway, which seems to be Samsung’s shade of 2020.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2, along with four other key devices from Samsung, will be showcased officially on August 5.
