Original article: April 15, 2020 at 5:17 p.m. ET: In our review, we called the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 the best Android tablet on the market. Two of the device’s only downsides were its high $650 starting price and the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack. Thankfully, Samsung just announced the Galaxy Tab S6’s new little sibling — the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite — which should bring that price down a bit while reintroducing the highly coveted audio jack.

This new tablet looks relatively similar to the current champion on the outside. But when you look at the specs, it’s a bit easier to see why it touts the Lite moniker.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite features a slightly smaller 10.4-inch display with a 2,000 x 1,200 resolution, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and an unnamed octa-core processor that tops out at 2.3Ghz. We expect the device to sport the Exynos 9611 SoC.

This new mid-range tablet also features dual Dolby Atmos-certified speakers, a 7,040mAh battery, and an S Pen in the box. It comes equipped with an 8MP camera around back, a 5MP shooter in front, and Android 10 with Samsung’s One UI 2.0 on top.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite will be available in three colorways: Oxford Gray, Angora Blue, and Chiffon Pink. Samsung has yet to release any official pricing or availability information, but we expect it to cost a fair bit less than the standard Galaxy Tab S6.
