Original article, May 15, 2020 (10:00 AM ET): The Samsung Galaxy A series is one of its most popular right now. In fact, Samsung’s mid-range Galaxy A51 was apparently the best selling Android phone in the world during the first quarter of this year.

Now, Samsung has announced a new Galaxy A series phone without much fanfare — the Galaxy A21s. Samsung has disclosed the phone’s official specs through an infographic. It’s essentially an upgrade to the existing Galaxy A21, with a revamped camera setup, a larger battery, and more RAM.

Samsung Galaxy A21s: Specs

The new phone gets a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. There’s a hole-punch at the top left corner of the screen housing a 13MP selfie shooter. Both the display and selfie camera are the same as what’s included with the Galaxy A21.

The main quad-camera setup gets an upgrade though. There’s a 48MP primary sensor instead of the 16MP lens found on the A21. The other three camera sensors remain the same, including an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP depth camera, and another 2MP macro camera. A physical fingerprint sensor also rests in the center of the back panel just like the Galaxy A21.

The battery of the Galaxy A21s also gets a boost compared to its sibling. It houses a 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging that’s sure to make it last longer than the Galaxy A21 which has a 4,000mAh battery.

In terms of performance, the Galaxy A21s is powered by the Exynos 850 octa-core processor. It will be available in 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB RAM options, paired with 32GB and 64GB of storage.

Colorways for the new phone include black, white, blue, and red.

Samsung Galaxy A21s: Price and availability

The Samsung Galaxy A21s phone will land in Spain on June 22, 2020, which strongly suggests that’s when the rest of Europe will also see it. Additionally, the Netherlands has an announced price of €209 (~$227), so that will likely be close to the price for all other European countries.

In UK, the Galaxy A21s starts at £179 (~$226). It’ll be available in black, white, and blue colorways starting on June 19. UK customers will also get six months of free Spotify Premium subscription with the purchase of the phone.

In India, Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy A21S will launch on June 17. However, there’s no confirmation on its sale day in the country.

We still don’t have word on release dates and pricing for the US.
