Samsung is bringing a host of flagship camera features to the Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 in the latest round of firmware updates. While a number of other pre-installed apps will receive tweaks, the camera app will see the most extensive changes.
The Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 will now feature a Pro camera mode in the same vein as the Galaxy S20 series. This will let users manually adjust focus and shutter speed and is a boon for those who demand more intricate control of their camera hardware.
Single Take, a mode that automatically records video and captures stills with filters, will also arrive on both phones. Other modes like Night Hyperlapse and My Filters also make the cut.
The update is a welcome sign that Samsung is serious about filtering down flagship photography features to its cheaper devices.
While the Samsung Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 don’t pack the same camera hardware as the likes of the Galaxy S20 Ultra, they remain capable snappers. The Galaxy A51 features a 48MP primary rear camera backed up by a 12MP ultra-wide snapper, a 5MP macro camera, and a 5MP depth sensor. The Galaxy A71 features a similar lineup with a 64MP sensor in the starring role instead.
