The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series is expected to borrow a bunch of features from the existing S20 lineup. But that’s really a no-brainer. Samsung’s S and Note series have been overlapping for quite some time now and this year should be no different.
According to the latest rumors, the upcoming Galaxy Note 20 Plus could get the same 108MP camera as the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The information comes from Galaxy Club, which also recently leaked details about the Note 20 Plus’ battery capacity.
For its camera, the outlet notes that the 108MP sensor on the Galaxy Note 20 Plus is not its zoom camera. The one on the S20 Ultra does help in achieving hybrid zoom, but the main telephoto camera on it is a 48MP sensor. The publication is unsure if that’s also the case for the Note 20 Plus.
Meanwhile, serial tipster Ice Universe claims that the Galaxy Note 20 Plus’ 108MP camera is the same ISOCELL Bright HM1 sensor as the S20 Ultra. This means it’ll be a 1/1.33-inch sensor with a 0.8μm pixel size. By default, it should shoot 12MP images using Samsung’s nona-binning technology.
The leaker adds that Samsung will also use a new sensor to help with focusing. Autofocus is a known weakness of the Galaxy S20 Ultra and many users have complained about focus issues on the flagship phone.
Galaxy Note20 + will still use 108mp HM1, but add a new sensor to assist in focusing and completely solve the focusing problem.

The S20 Ultra lacks a Dual-Pixel autofocus system and houses only regular phase detection autofocus tech, which could be what hampers its focusing capabilities. The new sensor on the Note 20 Plus is expected to resolve those issues. In fact, Samsung just launched a new 50MP sensor with Dual-Pixel autofocus. Maybe that’s one of the sensors we’ll see on the upcoming Note 20 Plus.
Interestingly, folks over at Galaxy Club also hear that the 108MP setup could be limited to the Note 20 Plus. The regular Galaxy Note 20 could instead opt for the 12MP sensor found on the Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus. That’s hardly a problem as the 12MP sensor also does a pretty good job on the non-ultra S20 phones.
That’s all we know about the Galaxy Note 20’s camera for now. You can check out some other spec details we recently came across here. You could also read more articles about the phone via the links below.
