Update, May 26, 2020 (6AM ET): Realme has also launched the Realme Watch in Europe. We’ve updated the original article below to reflect those details.
Original article, May 25, 2020 (4:56 AM ET): The Realme Watch is now official and has launched in India at a very affordable price of Rs 3,999 (~$52). As revealed by earlier teasers, the Realme Watch is essentially a fitness tracker that also lets you check app and call notifications from your wrist.
The wearable’s square-faced design and UI is reminiscent of the Apple Watch, and other cheaper smartwatches from the likes of Amazfit. But for its super cheap price tag, the device packs in quite a few features.
Realme Watch specs and features
The Realme Watch brings nothing that we haven’t already seen on a number of activity trackers and cheap smartwatches. However, it’s definitely one of the cheaper fitness wearables in the Indian market.
It’s got a 1.4-inch TFT LCD color display covered in 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3. You’ll have 12 watch faces to play with at launch, with hundreds more coming via an OTA update in the future.
Design-wise, Realme sticks to its philosophy of bringing punchy colors to attract young buyers. You get a neon-on-black UI with four color straps (blue, red, green, and black). Surprisingly, there’s no Realme yellow in the mix. As far as other straps go, you get the black one by default and will have to shell out Rs 499 (~$7) extra to buy the other colors.
Activity tracking features on the Realme Watch are also pretty standard. Apart from basic step, sleep, heart-rate, and calorie tracking, you get measurements for blood oxygen (SpO2) and 14 sports modes in the watch. You can take a look at the image below to see all of the modes at a glance.

On the default watch face (see image at the top of the article), the Realme Watch will show you six pieces of information: steps taken, heart-rate, calories burnt, time, date, and weather. This will of course change if you switch to other watch faces.
In terms of alerts, you’ll be able to check for notifications like calls, SMS, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and more. What you won’t be able to do is take a call or reply to those notifications. You can, however, control your music and unlock your Android phones with the Realme Watch thanks to Bluetooth 5.0.
Other alerts include those for drinking water and standing up if you’ve been idle for too long.
The Realme Watch is also IP68 rated for dust and water resistance. This is a neat addition in a wearable that’s so cheap.
Realme Watch availability
The Realme Watch will be available with a black strap starting June 5 at 12PM IST (2:30AM ET) through Realme’s India website and Flipkart. You’ll be able to buy additional straps for the smartwatch at a later date.
Realme has also launched the smartwatch in Europe at a slightly more expensive price tag of €54.99 (~$60). It’ll be available in Europe through Realme’s website starting June 22.
