  • Plex is launching a new service, Live TV on Plex, starting today.
  • It will offer over 80 channels of live streaming content for free across multiple platforms.
  • The service will be supported by commercials.

Plex is expanding its streaming media services once again. Today, it’s launching Live TV on Plex, which offers over 80 channels of live streaming content for multiple platforms, all for free. The service is similar to other live streaming companies like Pluto TV, along with Roku’s live television channels. The service is being supported by commercial advertisements.

Live TV on Plex will have a wide variety of channels to surf. It will include live news reports from sources like Reuters TV, along with movie channels like Maverick Black Cinema, The Film Detective, Dark Matter TV, Midnight Pulp, and more. Content from other parts of the world will be represented by channels such as AFV Español and Latin X Pop for Latino audiences, BAMBU for Chinese viewers, KMTV for Korean TV watchers and fans.

Kids will be able to watch a number of channels devoted to that audience such as Kidoodle TV, Monster Kids, KidsFlix, and Toon Goggles. There will also be some very specific channels to watch, including The Boat Show, which is devoted to (what else) boats. There’s also the Choppertown channel for motorcycle rides and fans, The Pet Collective for fun and funny videos about our furry friends, and more. There’s even a channel devoted to one of the biggest internet art creator memes of all, Bob Ross.

Platforms for Plex live TV

These Plex live TV channels will be available in iOS and Android smartphone apps, as well as Apple TV and Android TV boxes and TVs. It will also be available on the Plex apps for Roku sticks, boxes, and smart TVs, along with Amazon Fire TV sticks and smart TVs. The Plex web app will also support the services. Updates will be made later on Plex apps for other smart TVs as well as its supported game consoles.
