OnePlus 6 and 6T update

  • Current stable version: Android 10
  • When will the OnePlus 6 and 6T get Android 11? September 2020 – November 2020 (estimated)

The OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T both launched in 2018. The OnePlus 6 launched with Android 8.1 Oreo and the OnePlus 6T launched with Android 9 Pie. The OnePlus 6 got its Android 9 Pie update not long after the software landed for the public.

Now, both the unlocked variants of the OnePlus 6 and 6T have official updates to Android 10. It is very likely both devices will eventually see updates to Android 11 in 2020. However, the jury is still out on whether or not the two devices will get Android 12 in 2021.

In January, OnePlus rolled out OxygenOS 10.3.1 to the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T. The update brought quite a few bug fixes as well as the December 2019 Android security patch to the phones.

Later in February, the T-Mobile version of the OnePlus 6T finally got the Android 10 update. This had been delayed for quite some time. Apart from all the fixings of Android 10, the update added the December 2019 security patch to the phone.

Shortly after that, both handsets received the Oxygen OS 10.3.2 stable update. This update fixed a screen flickering issue, it improved system stability, and it included the February security patch.

With Oxygen OS 10.3.3, launched in mid-May, the two phones got the latest April 2020 security patch as well as a few bug fixes. However, nothing too notable was in the update.

In late May, the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T received Oxygen OS 10.3.4. The update included the May security patch for Android, and added Epic Games in the OnePlus Game Space launcher for India. A number of minor bug fixes also featured.

In October, the OnePlus 6 and 6T received Oxygen OS 10.3.6 which includes a few patches and the September 2020 security update.

If you still haven’t received Android 10 on your OnePlus 6 or 6T, you can always use Oxygen Updater. Check out our guide on that process here.
