- Samsung’s Note 20 has appeared on the FCC’s website.
- The listing confirms the phone will feature Wi-Fi 6 and 5G support.
Leading up to Samsung’s announcement of Unpacked 2020, there was some confusion over whether the company would release two or three variants of the Note 20. With a variety of leaks to their names, the Note 20 Plus and Note 20 Ultra seemed like sure deals, but not so with the base model Note 20. However, thanks to a new FCC listing spotted by MySmartPrice, we now know the 6.7-inch Note 20 is making its way to the US.
An FCC listing usually indicates a device is ready to release in the US. The filing doesn’t reveal much in the way of new information about the Note 20-series. What it does do is confirm that the phone’s official model number is SM-981B. Moreover, the documents say the phone will include support for 5G and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. Both of those were features of the Galaxy S20-series, so it’s unsurprising Samsung has decided to include them across all of its new Note phones.
It will also come bundled with the same 25W USB-C power adapter Samsung currently ships with it S20 phones. And if there was any doubt, the S Pen comes bundled in the box.
Samsung will announce the Note 20 and its siblings on August 5. The phones are then expected to hit store shelves sometimes on or around August 21. While we wait for those dates, you can read all the latest information on the upcoming devices in our dedicated Galaxy Note 20 rumor hub.
