Anyone wanting to get their hands (or wrists) on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 may not have to wait too much longer, as plenty of new details have emerged on Samsung’s follow-up to 2018’s Galaxy Watch. Arguably the most important new detail on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is the release date. According to a report from respected leaker Evan Blass on Twitter, it is slated to release on July 22. A couple of new renders leaked, and one of the images had “Wed 22 on the face. That could represent the release date of the upcoming watch, especially since it just so happens that July 22 falls on a Wednesday this year.

In another leak from Evan Blass, we learned that Samsung’s new watch will likely be priced between $400 and $600. That’s a bit of a jump from the original Galaxy Watch, which came in at $329 for the smaller version and $349 for the larger version.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 sizes
According to another leak from Evan Blass, there will be nine different configurations for the Galaxy Watch 3 coming on the potential July 22 release date. Of those configurations, there will be two different sizes, 45mm and 41mm. That’s in the same range as previous Galaxy smartwatch models, with the previous version coming with 46mm and 42mm configurations.
There will be 9 distinct Galaxy Watch3 configurations:

New firmware features
In another leak, Max Winebach broke down a bunch of new features that he found in the Galaxy Watch 3 firmware. Some notable features include rich notification icons, new watch faces, a new weather app, a new music widget, and more.
To sum up what I found in the GW3 firmware:
Rich notification icons
New watch faces
New weather app
Outlook replaces Samsung Email (further going with my theory Samsung email will be replaced by Outlook)
New Music widget
Information edges in watch faces
More customizable faces— Max Weinbach (@MaxWinebach) June 30, 2020
Also interesting is the fact that Outlook is replacing Samsung email. This is a pretty big change and could be further indication that Samsung email is going away and Outlook is taking over.
All in all, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 looks quite promising, and if the leaks are correct, we shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to try it out for ourselves.
