Now that we know the Poco F2 Pro is launching on May 12, all eyes are on how Poco will price its new flagship. Word is that it’s the same phone as the Redmi K30 Pro and Poco’s own teasers have also suggested the same. However, the company could have some surprises in store and you’ll have to watch its live launch event to find out what the new Poco F2 Pro is all about.
Poco has shared details of its launch livestream with Android Authority. As per the information, the launch of the Poco F2 Pro will take place in Europe, but Poco is still insisting on calling it a “global event. Maybe Poco will also announce availability of the phone in countries outside of Europe, but we’re not sure about that yet.
The Poco F2 Pro livestream will happen on the company’s YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter channels at 8PM GMT+8. You can also watch it via the video embedded below.
What to expect from the Poco F2 Pro?
As we mentioned before, the Poco F2 Pro could be a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro in the west, much like the Poco X2 was a rebadged Redmi K30 4G. This means that the phone will most likely get the Snapdragon 865 chipset, a 120Hz display, a quad camera setup led by a 64MP sensor, and 33W wired charging. We might see some tweaks in colorways, RAM, and storage, but not much will change if rumors are correct.
A recent leak suggested that the F2 Pro could be priced around €570 (~$615) in Europe for the 128GB storage variant. At this price, the phone would still be one of the cheapest flagships to buy in 2020, keeping with the legacy of the Pocophone F1.
We’re not sure if Poco will also launch a standard Poco F2 at the event. The company has only confirmed the F2 Pro for now, which makes us wonder what happened to the regular F2. Guess we’ll find that out tomorrow.
