- Specs and prices for the Xiaomi Mi TV Stick may have leaked.
- It could have two different models based on resolution.
- The 4K Mi TV Stick could breach the $100 price barrier.
In May, Xiaomi confirmed the existence of the Mi TV Stick, a streaming dongle that would likely compete with Amazon’s Fire TV Stick when it launches. Now, a couple of retail listings and a leaked image on Reddit have revealed the apparent specs and prices for the upcoming device. There’s also an unboxing video of the new Mi TV Stick doing the rounds on the internet. Here’s what we know so far.
Xiaomi Mi TV Stick: Specs
Leaked specs of the Mi TV Stick reveal a device that would most likely replace the existing Android-powered Mi Box S. According to separate listings on Gearbest and AliExpress, the Mi TV Stick will come in two variants: one with 1080p resolution and 1GB RAM and another with 4K resolution and 2GB RAM. Both models are expected to have 8GB of internal storage. Both are also said to run Android TV 9.0 and feature support for the Google Assistant.
The listings also suggest that the Mi TV Stick will be accompanied by a Bluetooth remote with dedicated buttons for the Google Assistant, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video.

Meanwhile, a Reddit post also exposes some more details about the Mi TV Stick. Information in there is said to be sourced from Tradingshenzen.com, but we haven’t been able to verify the same.
An image in the post shows that the Mi TV Stick will have built-in Chromecast functionality and release in both US and other global markets. A search for the global SKU number mentioned in the post actually reveals a bunch of listings for the Mi TV Stick, including one with a European price. Gearbest and AliExpress have also revealed the alleged US prices for the two Mi TV Stick models, so let’s take a look at how all those listings stack up.
Xiaomi Mi TV Stick: Price and availability
According to an extensive listing by a Spanish retailer, the Mi TV Stick will cost €39.95 (~$44.80) in Europe. The listing also mentions an availability date for July 31 and specs mentioned in it suggest that this is the FHD variant of the streaming dongle.
Meanwhile, according to the AliExpress listing, the device will cost $49 in the US for the variant with full HD resolution. Gearbest pegs the US price of the 4K version at $133. If these prices are accurate, the 4K Mi TV Stick model is almost three times the price of the $49 Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K. It’s even pricier than the $54.99 Mi Box S 4K. However, it’s more than possible that Gearbest is showing a marked-up price for an imported Mi TV Stick 4K unit or a placeholder price, so don’t take it to heart just yet.
