- Google Assistant’s Snapshot now focuses on your important tasks based on the time of day.
- It also recommends podcasts, recipes, and restaurants.
- You’ll get upcoming birthdays in the future.
Google Assistant’s Snapshot is about to become much more useful if you have a packed daily schedule.
Google has updated the daily agenda feature to summarize the most important tasks at the top, with the Snapshot now changing based on the time of day and how you’ve interacted with Assistant in the past. You’ll get your news, to-dos, and weather if you’re just starting out the day, for example.
You’ll get more recommendations, too. Google Assistant will now suggest podcasts, recipes, and delivery-friendly restaurants. Like with other tasks, recipes will change over the course of the day.
Upcoming birthdays will reach Snapshot in the future, Google said. When they arrive, you’ll get the chance to call, text, or even sing a birthday song.

It should be easier to bring up the Snapshot. Where you previously needed to tap an icon, you can now ask Google to “show me my day to call up the agenda. The voice command will initially reach users with English as their default language, and should spread to other languages in the “coming months.
The overall Snapshot update is rolling out now to everyone on Android and iOS, while birthdays are poised to reach English-speaking markets when they’re ready. This won’t necessarily turn Assistant into a full-fledged productivity app, but it might give you more reason to trust Google with your day-to-day affairs versus other personal assistants.
