Update: August 4, 2020: Mulan, which was supposed to be released to theaters in the US way back in March, was one of the first films hit by coronavirus movie delays. However, it won’t be included in the $6.99 a month subscription price. Disney Plus subscribers will have to pay an additional $29.99 to watch Mulan.

More coronavirus movie delays coming soon?

This may just be the start of many more movies that will have their theater release dates delayed due to the coronavirus. Big cities like New York City and Los Angeles have shut down movie theaters, and the two biggest theater chains in the US, AMC and Regal, have also shut down their locations. While there are a few smaller theaters, and some drive-in theater locations, currently open, the major movie theater chains won’t open the majority of their locations until sometime in July 2020, or perhaps even later.

Furthermore, other films that were in production for release later in 2020 or in 2021 have suspended production as well. It’s likely some of their release dates will be changed if the outbreak threat continues. We’ll be sure to update this post to keep you up to date.
