  • Amazfit T-Rex has launched in India at Rs 9,999 (~$131).
  • It’s a rugged fitness watch with a 20-day battery life.
  • The company will also launch the Amazfit Stratos 3 in India very soon.

Mi Band-maker Huami is ramping up its portfolio of Amazfit smartwatches in India. The latest one to enter the market is the Amazfit T-Rex.

The rugged smartwatch was first unveiled at CES 2020 and has a round 1.3-inch AMOLED color screen as opposed to a square one we’ve seen on the likes of Amazfit Bip S and GTS. It’s a tough-looking watch and is built to withstand drops, shocks, and extreme weather with its MIL-STD-810 certification.

The T-Rex also promises 20-day battery life with its 390mAh battery which is pretty decent considering it has an in-built GPS tracker. We confirmed this in our review of the T-Rex. In seven days of usage, the battery percentage on our review unit of the smartwatch only went down 25%. We couldn’t test its full battery life during our review process but the company claims you can stretch it to 66 days with basic use.

In terms of health tracking, you get 14 sports modes on the Amazfit T-Rex, including steps, indoor and outdoor running, cycling, skiing, and more. You also get a BioTracker PPG optical heart rate sensor for all-day heart rate tracking and the watch is 5ATM water-resistant so you can easily take it for a swim.

Besides this, the Amazfit T-Rex includes a music control feature to let you play/pause and skip tracks on your phone remotely. You’ll also get notification alerts for incoming calls, text messages, apps, and more. However, don’t expect to be able to answer these through the T-Rex. You’ll have to whip out your phone, as usual, to take calls and reply to texts.

Most Amazfit smartwatches are pretty basic in terms of the software they offer and so the T-Rex also doesn’t support any third-party apps.

Amazfit T-Rex India price

The T-Rex joins the ranks of the sub-Rs 10,000 fitness wearables in India. The smartwatch is priced at Rs 9,999 (~$131). There isn’t much competition in this price segment from other smartwatches, but you can definitely get decent fitness trackers at this price.

If you’re interested in buying the Amazfit T-Rex in India, you can get it on Amazon or on Amazfit’s website. Color options include Army Green, Khaki, Rock Black, and Camo Green.

It’s expected to be the most expensive smartwatch by the company in India as it boasts of professional-grade sports analysis from Firtsbeat, a more powerful GPS tracker, 80 sports modes, 2GB internal storage for standalone music playback, and more.

Huami has announced that it’ll bring the Amazfit Stratos 3 to India very soon through Flipkart.
