Update: July 29 2020 (3:51AM ET): The Amazfit Bip S launched in India last month, bringing plenty of features for Rs 4,999 (~$66). That’s a low price, but what if you’re looking for something even cheaper? That’s where the newly launched Amazfit Bip S Lite comes in.
The new wearable has just launched in India for Rs 3,799 (~$51), but there are definitely a few compromises compared to the standard Bip S. For one, Huami says it has a 30-day battery life compared to the standard model’s claimed 40-day endurance. The Amazfit Bip S Lite also tracks eight sports modes and activities compared to the standard model’s 10 modes.

Nevertheless, the Lite model does pack features like 5ATM water resistance, a color display, the firm’s PAI health suite, and 40 watch faces (with more coming via updates). The first flash sale for the Bip S Lite is taking place as of writing via Flipkart.
For what it’s worth, our own Adamya Sharma thought the standard model was a pretty good fitness tracker in her Amazfit Bip S review. However, serious app connectivity issues and some usability problems (e.g. music controls, lack of freestyle workouts) marred her experience. So you might want to wait for Bip S Lite reviews.
Original article: June 3 2020 (3:26AM ET): Amazfit is one of the bigger names in the fitness and wearable space, with its gadgets offering good value for money. Now, the company has launched the Amazfit Bip S in India, marking the latest bang for your buck wearable in the market.
The wearable’s biggest selling point might be its endurance, with Amazfit touting a 40-day battery life. But this drops dramatically to 20 hours when you use the integrated GPS, and the firm says you can expect 15 days of usage in a “typical usage scenario.
The Amazfit Bip S packs ten sports modes, including running, walking, treadmills, and yoga. Otherwise, you’re also getting 5ATM water resistance for improved durability, a 1.28-inch transflective color display, and Bluetooth 5.
The Amazfit Bip S is available in India for Rs 4,999 (~$66) and can be bought via the official Amazfit website, Amazon, Flipkart, and several other retailers.
We’re in the process of reviewing the wearable and will update the article with the Amazfit Bip S review as soon as it’s published. For now, you can check out more wearable coverage via the links below.
